Actress Laide Bakare’s Boutique Shut Down By EFCC In Lagos

laide-bakare-612x300

Certainly, these are not the best of times for popular actress, Laide Bakare, as she seems to have been caught in the web of the face-off involving her husband, Alhaji Atanda Orilowo, a.k.a ATM, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a multi-billion Naira estate project in Lagos. Her husband had threatened to go to court to put a stop to the intimidation by EFCC and settle all the issues once and for all, but it seems the man was just bragging. He has not been seen and the anti-corruption body say Alhaji Orilowo is on the run. They’ve now been empowered to take over his properties

And for actress Laide Bakare, things have turned from celebration to crises and getting worse since EFCC had got an order of court – a forfeiture order – on all known properties of her husband, following the alleged fraud of about N2.5bn meant for the construction of a Y’ellow Estate in the Ajah area of Lagos. After placing the order on his filling stations, EFCC is now set to shut down the boutique he opened for her.

Van Gaal agrees to be next Manchester United manager

Van Gaal agrees to be next Manchester United manager

Louis Van Gaal has agreed a deal to become the next manager of Manchester United, Goal understands. The Dutchman has finalised the terms of a contract with a United delegation headed by the Glazer family in the last 24 hours. Van Gaal is expected to sign a short-term contract of no more than three years and take over at Old Trafford when his stint with the Netherlands national team finishes after the World Cup.

A United delegation including executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and one of the Glazer brothers have been negotiating the precise terms of the deal at Van Gaal’s villa in the Algarve.

Although United today publicly distanced themselves from rumours that Van Gaal has already put pen to paper, they have not denied that terms have been agreed between the two parties. As reported by Goal, Van Gaal held initial talks with United last week and told friends he was "very keen" on taking over at Old Trafford after the World Cup.

Van Gaal, who turns 63 in August, represents a relatively short-term fix and a considerable departure from the long-term planning trumpeted by United in the wake of David Moyes’ appointment 11 months ago. However, following Moyes’ disastrous tenure, which came to an abrupt end when he was sacked on Tuesday, United chiefs have put their faith in an experienced manager with a proven track record of success.

Van Gaal’s outstanding CV which features league titles in three different countries, has outweighed reservations about his abrasive reputation and possible unavailability until the second week of July, should Holland reach the World Cup final.

Jonathan commissions N100bn new investment in North East

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, performed the ground-breaking of the N100bn expansion project for Ashaka Cement’s new 2.5million metric-tonne capacity cement production line in Gombe, North East Nigeria. The project, which will be completed within three years, will increase the company’s current production capacity of over one million metric tonnes to about four million metric tonnes while creating a lot of jobs.
Jonathan, who was represented by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, said the new investment was a testimony of global investors’ growing confidence in the Nigerian economy as well as the Federal Government’s commitment to transforming the Nigerian economy, leaving out no region.

He said this just as he disclosed that Government had commenced plans to bring down the price of cement. The President reiterated that the current administration would continue to provide a conducive environment for industry, trade and investments to thrive in line with his Transformation Agenda.

He said, “The cement industry is a perfect example of the transformation that can happen in an industry based on the focused implementation of a well-thought out policy and a continuous partnership that harnesses the expertise of the private sector and the capacity of the public sector.

“The commencement of the capacity expansion of AshakaCem Plc’s cement production project further buttresses the confidence that global investors have in the Nigerian economy, which is now the largest economy in Africa.”

The President added, “As at 2002, the local cement industry had the capacity to barely produce two million metric tonnes per annum. By the year 2013, this had grown to 28.5 million metric tonnes and we expect the installed capacity to be about 39 million metric tonnes by the end of this year.

Jonathan noted that Nigeria had become a net exporter of cement, saying that “this is something that we all should be proud of.”

He pointed out that the Federal Government had commenced a plan of action that would promote the consumption and export of cement, enhance skills development and innovation in the industry and bring down the price of cement.

He stressed that his administration would continue to provide both the incentives and the conducive environment to make the cement industry globally competitive in line with the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan.

Church were Beyoncé is Worshiped as a god!

They are calling the congregation "National Church of Bey" and read their scriptures from the "Beyble!" The church which is located in Atlanta, Georgia practice the religion Beyism and believe the super star singer Beyoncé Knowles is a god amongst humans, saying that they would rather worship her than a spirit(God), they cannot see!

The church's founder, Pauline John Andrews, recently made this a point of note in his statement;

"We are very disappointed in the failure of the public to recognize the existence of a divine Deity walking among them. Deity's often walk the Earth in their flesh form. Beyoncé will transcend back to the spirit once her work here on Mother Earth has been completed. As our congregation continues to swell, we ask that you consider what is more real; an invisible spirit on high, or a walking, talking, breathing Goddess who shows you her true form daily? Beyoncé's spirit is entrancing. We know that she was sent to this place to spread love, peace, and joy. Open your mind to new possibilities and you will see, just as we did, that Bey is a true higher power. We have published the Beyble and it will soon be available for free to the public. Donations have poured in and we will soon have enough to build a temple in honor of Mother Bey. We will invite her to speak to her flock, once the doors are open."

What Bill Gates comments about Dangote

A year ago, I gave a speech in London about the fight to eradicate polio. It included a section on Nigeria, one of just three countries where the virus still circulates.

The organizers told me Aliko Dangote had been invited. I thought, I’d like to see him, but he’d end polio faster by staying in Nigeria and doing the work he does every day. Fortunately, Aliko thought the same thing. He skipped my speech, and the children of Nigeria are better off for it.

Aliko is Africa’s richest man, and his business activities drive economic growth across the continent. That’s impressive, but I know him best as a leader constantly in search of ways to bridge the gap between private business and public health. It’s for that reason he helped create the Nigeria Private Sector Health Alliance. And it’s for that reason he is an advocate for agricultural research and malaria control. All of this is in addition to Aliko’s leadership on polio and other diseases.

The last time I was in Nigeria, we met with dozens of people, from government leaders to front-line health workers. After I left, Aliko followed up with them to make sure they were doing the work they said they would do. This year, Nigeria is on pace for its lowest number of polio cases ever. Aliko is a big reason why.

Second Coming Won't Happen As Jesus Made Drunk Promise - Vatican

According to spokesperson for the Vatican, Cardinal Giorgio Salvadore, the second coming of Jesus, the only son of the God, may not happen now after all.

Cardinal Giorgio Salvadore has officially announced that this years 1,981st anniversary is to be the Vatican’s last in regards to waiting for the Lord to return to Earth. But he urged followers to still continue with their faith, regardless of the news.

Cardinal Salvadore said, "We just feel Jesus is not coming back by the looks of it. It’s been ages like. He’s probably flat out doing other really good things for people somewhere else."

In chapter John 14:1-3 of the Bible, Jesus promised his disciples that he would come again: "There are many homes up where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with Me where I am. If this weren’t so, I would tell you plainly."

Cardinal explained Jesus’ broken promise saying that he was probably drinking wine at the time when he made the comments. "Having the ability to turn water into wine had its ups and its downs. We all make promises we can’t keep when we’re drunk. Jesus was no different," added Cardinal Salvadore.

The church said it will now focus attentions on rebuilding its reputation around the world, but will keep an optimistic mind for the savior’s second coming.

Well.... As for me and my House we will Wait upon our Lord!!! Ana ako shit

Lupita Nyong’o arose as People magazine’s Most Beautiful Person for 2014, besting other gorgeous ladies like Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts and Julianna Margulies.

Born in Mexico and raised in Kenya, Nyong’o first equated beauty with what she saw on television: “Light skin and long, flowing, straight hair,” she says. “Subconsciously you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess.” Her mother, Dorothy, who is the managing director and head of PR for the Africa Cancer Foundation, “always said I was beautiful,” Nyong’o adds. “And I finally believed her at some point.”
