Angola Shuts Down Islam

 Several newspapers report that the African country of Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims. The Angolan Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva was quoted by news agencies and Angola newspapers as saying "The process of legalisation of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice." As part of the ban, the Angolan government ordered the demolition of the mosques in the country. According to the official, such a decision became the latest in a series of attempts to ban "illegal" sects in the country. This statement by Silva was made during her appearance last week at the 6th Commission of the National Assembly The minister says that the move became necessary in order to fight the emergence of congregations whose worshipping is contradictory to the customs of Angola culture.

EBSU Pulls Out Of Strike!!!!!

Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, on Monday pulled out of the ongoing strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Ebonyi State University has joined Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), in Ondo State, Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT), Enugu, and the Ibrahim Badamosi University, Lapai, in Niger State to reopen their schools for academic activities.

ASUU gives 3 Conditon to end strike

 

 

 

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has given three conditions to be tabled before President Goodluck Jonathan today. If the terms are acceptable to the Federal Government, the union will call off the strike. The ASUU leadership has banned its local chapters and zonal chairmen from talking to the media until after the session with the President.  According to a source, who was part of the ASUU session at Mambayya House in Kano, the conditions are:

•Commitment from the President that any review or reconsideration or renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement will not substantially affect the pact which is the cause of the ongoing strike

•Immediate payment of all outstanding salary arrears and allowances of varsity teachers without victimization

•A written commitment from the President that the Federal Government will commit N225billion annually to the funding of universities for the next four years.

[GIST] Church Theft!!!

A man has been sentenced to spend one year in prison after he was found guilty of stealing from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles church.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Simon Ibrahim told the court that the convict was a habitual offender and had stolen from the same church in 2012. Sergeant Ibrahim said:

He stole from the same church last year. He was charged before a different court and was sentenced to one year imprisonment. In fact, he was just released from prison just last week. I don’t think he is ready to change.”

An Effurun high court, has sentenced a 24 year old secondary school student, Moses Akatugba, to death by hanging for robbing GSM handsets and recharge cards, just as a commercial motorcyclist, popularly called ‘okada’ rider was also jailed 15 years imprisonment for robbing a female passenger of her GSM handset. Moses was convicted on a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery contrary to section 6 (b) and punishable under section 1 (2) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap R11 Volume 14 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Breaking: Riot on Ajah road as Tanker kills 5 kids

According to our source currently on Ajah road, A tanker killed 5 kids this morning close to Ikota  primary school. Governors Shower Cash on Christians that converted to Islam

Yesterday, Sokoto state Governor Aliyu Wamakko, together with his Bauchi state counterpart Alhaji Isa Yuguda each distributed N5million to Igbo natives who converted to Islam. Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha and former Governor of Abia state Orji Uzor Kalu gave N2 million and N1million respectively to the converts.

The event took place in Abuja's National Mosque.

The converts, young men beteween 25 and 35 years, described Islam as a "truthful, peaceful and charitable faith."

The new Muslim converts are 17 Igbos, one Yoruba, and a Northern Hausa Christian: Chief Suleiman Nwachukwu, Ibrahim Uchenna Ukah, Muhammad Sani Stanley Uziogwe, Bello Kelvin Nmadu, Habibullah Kosoro Ofolete, Jamilu Osita Agocha, Haruna Chichebem Nwabirika, Abdulazeez Paschal Iroegbulam, Suleiman Ifeanyi Uzoma, Adam Nduka Nweko, Dawuda Nnaemeka Uzoma, Aliyu Prince Onyekwume and Musa (Anayo) Adugbaa, all of Imo state. Others are Abdulmalik Bongo Edet (Cross River), Hassan Babalola Shegun (Ondo), Nasir Peter Ndubisi (Anambra) and Bashir Prince Dulla (Akwa Ibom).

"I was attracted to Islam because of the truth it resonated in me, and I saw the charity of the faith which all its adherents find peace and solace in," said Ibrahim Ukah, formerly Uchenna Ukah, a younger brother of a fellow convert, Tobechi Ukah, now Abdullahi Ukah.

 The Chief Imam of Abuja National Mosque, Sheik Musa Muhammed administered the Oath of Sha’adah on the converts and pronouncing their newly adopted Muslim names during the weekly Jumat Khutbah (Sermon).

All the converts were unanimous in affirming to the beauty of Islam as well as the virtues seen in Muslims. They told the Imam that they were attracted by such qualities to Islam.

The new converts also commended the Chairman of the Council of Village Heads in Imo State, Chief Musa (Sylvester) O. Dimunah, who accepted Islam in January this year. They also commended a former secretary of the council and the executive secretary of Justice Mamman Nasir’s Islamic Centre for Peace and Research, Alhaji Ibrahim Biobo Nlomije, who they said facilitated their conversion.

Alhaji Nlomije said the acceptance of Islam by the newly converts was an attestation that Islam is not a sectional religion. He said such conversion attests to the achievement of the   Justice Nasir’s Centre, which among others, deepens religious tolerance and opens more opportunities for non-Muslims to embrace Islam.

Teenager kills 56 year father in Osun

A teenager simply identified as Olalekan has been arrested in Ilesa in Osun State for allegedly killing his 56 year old father, Ayodele Adetoyinbo.



The 18 year old suspect, who lived with his deceased father, allegedly confessed committing the crime to the police detectives attached to ‘B’ Division in Ijamo, Ilesa.

According to a police source, the suspect committed the offence on the 13th November, 2013.

The source, who preferred not to be mentioned because he was not authorised to speak on the issue, said that the suspect at 7pm on the fateful day after returning from school was allegedly accused by his father for stealing his six empty 25 litre jerry cans.

In a fit of anger during an argument that ensued between father and son, the suspect was said to have hit the deceased’s head with a concrete cement block, which consequently led to his death.

The deceased’s corpse has since been deposited at the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa for autopsy.

The state police spokesperson, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, said the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution after the conclusion of police investigation.

LASTMA Official Caught Taking Bribe From Motorist

An official of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) was caught demanding bribe from a motorist who is suspected to have broken the Lagos traffic law deliberately to expose corrupt law enforcement agents in the state.

The motorist, driving on Alfred Rewane Road, Ikoyi, Lagos state, was stopped at the Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant junction, recorded an amateur video and sent it to the iWitness platform of Channels Television.

The yet-to-be identified LASTMA official accused the motorist of beating the traffic light.
As penalty, the motorist was charged the sum of N8,000 and was escorted to the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to withdraw the cash to settle the officer.

It will be recalled that a police officer, Chris Omeleze, caught on film soliciting for inducement by an unknown motorist was dismissed by the Nigerian Police Force.
